Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi Everyone! I've decided as it's the New Year it was time to do something a little drastic to fundraise for a very good cause :)

UPDATE: In less than 17hours we've smashed my original target of £250 so I hope people don't mind me trebling it to an aspirational new target of £750. *UPDATE 2*: We smashed the revised target yesterday too so I was thinking it'd be ace to try and raise £2012 for the year 2012! I've been amazed by your generosity, let's see just how far this baby will fly!

Some of you will already be aware that very unexpectedly I was diagnosed with Hodgekin's Lymphoma (which is a cancer of the white blood cells) at the end of August 2011. It is a fairly aggressive form of cancer and so I've been undergoing fortnightly chemotherapy on a 6-month regime which started in September. I'm pleased to say a recent scan has showed that the disease has shrunk but the journey is not complete yet. I've still got quite a lot of my own hair left but there are plenty of other people undergoing chemotherapy who lose the lot so I've decided to show solidarity and join them by having my head completely shaved, and in the process I hope to raise as much money for MacMillan Cancer Support charity as possible (newly revised target is £750 but maybe even this target could be smashed?).

UPDATE: Headshave appointment has now been made for 10.30am at Beautilicious salon on Tong Street Bradford for next Saturday 14th Jan. They've agreed to waive their charge to show their support :)

MacMillan Cancer Support do much to help cancer sufferers and their families (please check out their website for loads more details). I've been attending the therapeatic weekly watercolours course run by a professional teacher funded by MacMillan Cancer Support. I'm enjoying the classes which provide a welcome distraction and I've included some photos of my work for you to see if you haven't seen them already. There are also 'countdown' photos of me with my 'Get Well Bear' (Pudsey) at every chemotherapy session so far to document my journey. I will of course update this page with more pics as we go along, including those of me with my newly shaved head when I've had it done!

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thanks again for reading.
