The Neurosurgical therapy team members are embarking on a challenge together to move (walk, run or cycle) 1000km in April, to raise money for Headway.

Headway is a charity that supports people following brain injury (acquired or traumatic), and provides support and advice for family members caring for those following brain injuries. This includes providing information on brain injuries, day centres, carer support groups, advocacy, befriending services and many other services.

Brain injuries can have profound affects on people’s day to day life, causing issues with mobility, cognitive function, speech, and memory, to name a few. Brain injury is very individual for each person, and can have a huge impact on quality of life. Charities have been very hard hit during the pandemic, and many of our patients and families that we care for benefit from support from this particular charity. We want to try to raise a bit of money to give back to them so they can keep doing their wonderful work!
