We are a small charity, entirely run by volunteers, based in South Bedfordshire. We have a shelter and a network of foster carers. We never put a cat down unless in extreme illness with veterinary advice. Our aim is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome stray and abandoned cats.

Story

I volunteer for a small charity called Stray Cat Rescue who are staffed entirely by volunteers. We try to take every cat in that we can and can have between 70 - 80 at any one time.

95% of the time these cats are abandoned in a strange area, or left behind when people move or are simply not wanted any more, especially if they are ill and the "loving owners" decide they cant be bothered to pay a vets bill.

They come in scared and confused more often than not and often with injuries or in very bad condition and due to the volunteers spending time with them by cleaning the pens and stroking and cuddling them (where they'll allow it ) they gradually come round and we are able to rehome them.

It costs a fortune to run the rescue, around £4,000 per month and we rely totally on donations.

Those that know me will also know that I havent walked miles for ages due to a back injury so this is my way of giving back something for the pleasure that the cats give me.

Please donate, anything will be gratefully received.
