Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you know I have really got into my cycling. I have done a couple of cycling challenges But this year I am taking on a huge challenge. In September I will be riding from Land's End to John O'Groats about 969 miles in 9 days. I will be doing this challenge with 600 others and we will be camping each night! I know so many people who have cancer I want to raise money to help fight this disease. Nearly every week I hear about someone who  has been diagnosed with or has died from cancer, it certainly spurs me on when the riding gets tough.

So I have now had time to reflect on my Ride Across Britain which I completed almost 2 months ago. I enjoyed the cycling despite the weather conditions.  We had rain most day, not continuous but heavy showers and strong winds.  Camping was challenging, very muddy under foot and just trying to get everything dry was hard, every available space in the drying areas was taken up with wet kit. However the organisation was fantastic and the sense of team work and camaradarie was great. We cycled through lovely scenery and my highlight was racing down Glen Coe towards the end of the longest day. The emotional highlights were reading all the lovely texts from family and friends at the first pit stop on day one and the feeling as we rode along the last 20 miles to John O'Groats. Trying to take in what I was about to achieve, wanting to get there versus never wanting the ride to end!! Tears and more tears. Thank you for all your support and belief in me, it will be something I never forget.
