Stroud Half Marathon 2011 · 23 October 2011 ·

MS-UK is here to support anyone affected by multiple sclerosis (MS), which affects over 150,000 people in the UK. We empower people with MS to live healthier and happier lives by improving the understanding of the condition and providing support where it is needed most.

Story

Hiyaaa everyone!

So I bet you're wondering why me of all people has signed up to do a half marathon... I don't exercise unless I have to and I literally have to bribe myself to go to the gym! A little run on the treadmill then a couple of situps = 2 glasses of vino and a bit of chocolate.. right!?! :)

Anyway, I have decided to do this half marathon for the 3rd time because when I think of the training that I have to do for it, and the actual run, yes it is daunting, and yes I probably will moan about the use (or uselessness) of my legs/feet for days after I've completed the run (which I apologise for in advance!).. But this really isn't a smidge on what people with MS have to deal with every day of their lives. My uncle Alastair has MS and I can confidently tell you that I have not once heard him moan about the way he's feeling, or how unlucky he is to have it.. He has been a true inspiration to me and my family, and he's also VERY good at giving out jelly beans throughout the half marathon!!If this half marathon is just one of the things I can do to help the MSRC, then I really want to make a go of it! So please will you dig deep into your pockets and donate some money to this amazing charity. It would mean the world to me to say that I have helped contribute to such a worthy cause .. plus I can't run this half marathon for the hell of it! NO WAY HOZAY!

Any donations (however big or small) are very much appreciated! Thanks a million! Love Alice xxxxxxx
