Story
My name is Alison Denslow, I live in Chideock and I am running the very first BRIGHTON MARATHON 26.2miles and that all important 385 yards!
I am fundraising for a local charity, Joseph Weld Hospice in Dorchester Dorset.
They provide such a wonderful calming environment for the terminally ill. It is a place that is so dignified to the patients and their relatives in their final moments.
BRIGHTON MARATHON APRIL 18TH 2010
It will be my 2nd marathon at the age of 44, with already sore feet! But raising money for the Joseph Weld Hospice puts all my aches and personal pains into insignificance and this is what drives me on to train through the rain and the bitterly cold days. My aim is to just run from start to finish no matter how slow or how long it takes me.
To raise money to make someone’s last few weeks/days of their lives calming and comfortable pushes me on to help them even though I may not even know them. They deserve to have dignity to the very end.
Please, please try and help, I know everyone is feeling the pinch at present, but every £1 is so well spent with in this charity.
I can be contacted at ali_65denslow@hotmail.co.uk or my work telephone number is 01308 456684 Bridec Melamine Boards in West Bay.
