In celebration of the East Surrey YMCA’s 150 year anniversary I undertook a personal challenge to walk 150 miles of the North Downs Way from Farnham to Dover, visiting the East Surrey YMCA to end the second leg and leave for the third leg. 

I completed the first leg from Farham to Guildford with six other walkers during February 2020, but the next leg was cancelled due to the Covid-19 lockdown. By April it didn‘t look as if would be possible to complete the challenge, but after a relaxation of the rules in mid-June I completed a section from the Stepping Stones to the YMCA which did not require any close contact with others, nor travelling by public transport. The challenge is back on, with a bit of catching up required, for completion by October 2020.

The YMCA East Surrey has kept their front line work such as Housing, Counselling and Inclusive Work with Children and Young People running throughout and desperately need some funds to ensure we can continue to provide these vital services. Please give generously.
