This autumn I will be taking on the hardest running challenge I have ever considered by taking part in the King Offa's Dyke Race which covers approximately 185 miles along the border between England and Wales. Until last year, the furthest I had raced was a marathon so the step up has been pretty rapid. 

I have decided to raise funds for The Ferne Animal Sanctuary (confession, my daughter works there) having seen the great work they do not only  caring forand rehoming domestic pets but also many animals who are not appropriate for care in the home (farm animals and others with long term health needs). 2019 marks Ferne's 80th anniversary and they will be having various events to mark the occasion.
