Kinship care is when a young person is looked after by their extended family often grandmothers, if they cannot remain with their birth parents. Children in kinship care often have many problems, and may have had chaotic upbringing throughout their formative years. Through no fault of their own, they can have low self esteem and be amongst the most vulnerable children in society. 

The THKCI aims to help raise expectations, educational attainment and employment choices for this group of vulnerable young people in Glasgow, We have so far set up activities such as 4 local homework clubs, courses in lifestyle management and outdoor activities and have ambitious plans to extend these.
