My name is Alister and I am running the London Marathon in April 2017 to raise money for Mid Essex Hospital on behalf of the Children;s Burns Club.

Children's Burns Club are a charity that provide support to children and their families who have been affected by a burn injury.

They organise fun days out and activities, as well as providing counselling and workshops, to help children deal with the emotional trauma connected to their injury. 

The Children's Burns Club are a charity that is very close to my heart.

On the 29th August 2007 my grandson Archie , who was 9 months old at the time, was involved in an accident which caused full thickness burns to 30% of his body. He was treated at Broomfield hospital in Chelmsford where we met the CBC team. Since then the support provided by the volunteers has been invaluable to not only him, but to us as a family.

Please sponsor me so that my grandson and other children like him can continue to recieve support from this fantastic charity.
