On the 3rd of May at 00:57 our beautiful boy Rupert Charles was born sleeping. We are beyond heartbroken .

The kindness and care the midwives and consultant showed to us was wonderful.

We were able to make memories and spend time talking to Rupert taking photos and telling him how much he is loved this was all down to the hospital having a cuddle cot. A cuddle cot is a cooling unit that allows families to spend extra time with their baby, by regulating the babies temperature. The cot has a thin mattress which is filled with cold water and then connected to a cooling unit which is plugged in, keeping the mattress constantly cold.

We were also given a memory box to help us create and keep our memories with our boy. This has everything about our Rupert inside. It’s so precious.

All this was possible with thanks to a charity called 4Louis, who have suffered with there own loss. We have chosen to fundraise to support this amazing charity and aim to buy as many memory boxes and cuddle cots as we can!

Each memory box is £30 the charity donate 1000 boxes a year around the country to hospitals and hospices.
4Louis have also donated over 200 cuddle cots to a various units across the UK. These cost £1,600 each.
