Formed in 1988, CCST is an entirely voluntary charity. Its 'Therapet' service involves registered dogs and their owners visiting hospitals, nursing homes, schools and other institutions on a regular basis to provide ‘pet therapy’, restore confidence and bring happiness to everyone they encounter.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

My Working Cocker Spaniel Pepper is a Therapet and she is part of a much wider, wonderful community of some 900 canine and feline volunteers (and their owners!) supporting mental and physical well-being throughout Scotland.  The work is varied visiting the likes of schools, universities, hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, special need’s, community centres, correction centres and prisons.  The benefits are also varied; some help improve self-esteem, mood and ease loneliness whilst others help reduce stress, anxiety and depression.  All with the help of some supporting furry paws.

There is no charge for this service, as it is organised and carried out largely by volunteers.  Fundraising keeps it active and any donation you might be able to give is greatly appreciated.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
