Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've signed up to row 22.5 km in an oct from Hammersmith to Greenwich on Sunday the 29th of September. The Regatta London event, which will also include kayaks, canoes and stand up paddle boards, seeks to celebrate the River Thames and the environment through sport whilst raising money for some terrific charities.
I am doing this challenge in support of the Fulham Reach Boat Club whose vision is to unlock young people's potential through rowing. FRBC use rowing to raise the aspirations of children, teaching them life skills such as teamwork and perseverance whilst boosting their confidence, focus and well-being. In 2016/17, they got 1,000 students from 8 state schools in Hammersmith & Fulham out on the water whilst last academic year they managed to hold rowing sessions for every one of the 12 state schools in the Borough. Beyond building a successful and sustainable boat club for local area students, they are looking ahead to open up the same opportunity to the students at the 52
state secondary schools which border the Oxford & Cambridge Boat
Race course. Your contribution to bring fairer access to opportunities that could help realise a young person's full potential is greatly appreciated.
