I'm running the 2020 ABP Newport Wales Marathon on Saturday 10th October virtually with my friend Laura.

In a moment of madness (thanks Avril!!) I signed up to the Newport Marathon in September 2019, just 2 weeks before running my first ever half marathon!! I completed the Pembrokeshire Half on September 29th in 2 hours 15 and finished with a big smile on my face despite being whipped by wind and the rain the whole way around!!

Training has been hindered with night shifts, professional exams and of course COVID-19 meaning the original race date in April 2020 was cancelled and moved to next year. I decided rather than wait for the full race in 2021 I would do what I intended to do starting 2020- I would complete a marathon no matter what!! 

I’d like to finish in 4.5 hours but I’m not going to focus too much on the time, rather I just want finish it running. This is my main hope- not to walk across the finish line but be running (in some shape or form!)
