Alzheimer Scotland is the leading, national dementia charity in Scotland. Our mission is to make sure nobody faces dementia alone. We provide advice, information and support and we are here for people living with dementia, their families and carers across Scotland.

Story

On the 8th October 2015. Members of Ayr's two Tartan Army's will walk from Somerset Park, Ayr to Hampden Park, Glasgow for the Scotland v Poland Euro Qualifier.

This is in memory of the late great Ally MacLeod who passed away with Alzheimer's in 2004.

We are raising funds for the Alzheimer's Scotland's Football Memories Project. Alzheimer’s recruit and train volunteers to deliver sports themed reminiscence sessions for people with dementia. The project’s extraordinary impact is perhaps best summed up by the wife of one of the men who attend these meetings:    "He's a different person when he comes out... It's put new life into him, and you can see that with all the men there."
Football has the ability to change lives and re-connect people. Our aim is to collate a database of supporters' stories online, and eventually in a book.

We think it's great to share these stories and we want you to get involved in using them to make a real difference in people's lives by donating, getting involved in your area and by sharing your memory.

Please donate to this brilliant charity to help fund this pioneering work and continue to help fans of all clubs and in the memory of a footballing legend, Ally MacLeod.

Thank You
