alfie staples is raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young
In memory of Ally Calvert
Each week at least twelve young people in the UK die suddenly as a result of undiagnosed heart conditions. At Cardiac Risk In the Young we aim to save young lives & to help those affected by the sudden cardiac death. We do this by providing support, information & screening those affected.

Story

On the 26th July 2015 we lost a dear friend, son and brother due to a undiagnosed heart condition called Cardiomyopathy (enlarged heart), Ally to those who knew him and those who didn't was such a funny, generous teenager who lived everyday to the full, he never failed to make us laugh at the latest dodgy dance move or the next joke, he was the loving sort, who would care for you no matter what, if you needed him he was there, unfortunately he wont be and in fact around 12 young adults die per week due to underlying heart conditions, and without funding for research and the proper scans for some teenagers, the number wont change, in honour of Allys name and those mums, dads and friends who have lost a friend, son or brother without saying a goodbye we urge you to please donate towards a charitable cause to stop #12aweek.

On the 28th July we created a media campaign in Allys honour called #AllysBigHeart to help raise awareness to the problems, where 80% of deaths occur with no prior symptoms, we gained a following and 41,000 took notice of @AllysBigHeart on twitter, including Rio Ferdinand and other celebrities.
