I have been lucky to be part of Harbor Humane Society since last spring, and our team is sharing why we do what we do!

Harbor Humane Society is only meant to be a temporary home.
Every day it’s our HOPE that all our deserving animals are found by their
second chance family, to be given the love they deserve. As a shelter with hundreds of animals to care for each day, our staff can only give so much love to each animal. We rely on our AMAZING volunteers to round out our team’s capacity to fulfill our daily responsibilities, which most importantly includes giving affection to our animals. Because of their donation of time, we are a better team for these animals. Between our kennel technicians, veterinarian team, administrative staff, and volunteers, every single animal that comes into our care makes an impact on Harbor. Whether large or small, positive or negative, we learn their story as they become part of ours. We grow attached to these animals and share their stories with as many listeners as possible as we work to secure their future. 

At Harbor we're driven by the love we have for these animals, and we wont give up on them. Our team experiences heartbreak, joy, relief and excitement all at the same time, over and over again, when the animals
that have made an impact on us leave our care. That animals success in
finding their second chance at life and love because of our efforts is
the greatest satisfaction in our work and knowing we are forever part of
 their story.
