Story
What is this all about then...
Altis FC, the new football club in East London, is taking part in the Football Beyond Borders Football Stadium Cycle Challenge to both raise awareness of the great work FBB do but also launch our partnership together.
What better way to celebrate the start of our exciting footballing partnership and the shared vision for all young people regardless of their background to feel valued, confident and empowered to become active citizens and achieve their goals and for society to provide the opportunities for them to do so.
The five committee members Steve Pigott (@Piggynet), Reece Crisp (@rjcrispin), Nick Biela (@nicholasbiela), Ramin Jarvand (@jarvs_rm_1983), Robin Biela (@skitzyg) will start out at 8am on Sunday 10th Sept (the morning after the first Altis FC match of the season) and cycle round the main 11 stadiums in London. Its approximately... 60miles and that's if we don't get lost.
To make matters worse 4 of the 5 participants don't own bikes, and all of us haven't ridden in years. So massive thanks to TokyoBikes (@tokyobikelondon) who we have roped into provide the wheels.
The epic journey will be captured on camera and through Altis FC social media channels (@AltisFC) and the event will be ending at the London Stadium (@londonstadium) so very close by Altis FC's new home ground.
Why are we doing this...
Football Beyond Borders (@footballbeyondborders) mission is to use football to create a more equal and inclusive society in which young people from low income backgrounds have the opportunity to develop the skills, attitude and character to succeed in education, work and public life.
Altis FC & FBB will be working together throughout the 17/18 season to raise more funds, and develop more opportunities for each other to help the local community.
Join us for drinks afterwards at Cafe Football (@cafefootballuk) in Stratford from 6pm
