At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Following a very tough 2 years watching our father suffer, deteriorate & subsequently succumb to Alzheimer's. I felt i needed to do something to help the Alzheimer's Society. Our father Clive Barnes spent his final 12 months in a specialist Dementia Care Home.

The money we raise will go to helping fund additional research within the Society

Our Challenge

Will take on the Typical LeJog route that i did back in 2013, this will take me from Lands End to John'o'Groats. A distance of 970 miles. Half way through this Sarah, our friends & I will also ride the ALZ 100 route with all the other riders.
Then i will ride to the West coast to start my Coast to Coast at Whitehaven. This will finish in Sunderland.
From Sunderland i will continue North through Scotland to complete LeJog at John'o'Groats 11 days & 1300 miles from the start.
I will be riding solo supported by Sarah.

When I Ride Coast to Coast i will be accompanied by Peter Hall & Marl Riley who have now decided to ride with me to Fort William

When I Ride The Alz 100 Sarah & I will be accompanied by Paul Oatham of Pro Vision, Mark & Kate Nicholls, Tony & Lisa Stevens, Roger Knight of Mercedes, Wayne Lacey of ProVision RT, Karen & Richard Line, Sonia & Robert Eld, Alex Mollart & Jamie Newman.

My journey will end in Scotland at John 'o' Groats on Fathers Day. This wasn't planned and will make the last day something special. I was always proud of my dad & I hope this last day will be be one to savour knowing he was proud of me & would be proud are what we achieve in his memory & for all other sufferers
