Fighting the stigma attached to mental health in memory of my beautiful mum

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I recently lost my mother, after years of taking lithium (an anti phychotic drug for the treatment of psychosis ) My mother suffered kidney failure which ultimately lead to her death on the 29th March 2016.
My mum battled mental illness for 37 years with immense dignity and pride, her main bugbear was the stigma attached to mental health, if ever she was acting a little off or having a bad day, people (including myself) would be overly concerned.. And she would always respond to this concern by saying "aren't people with mental health issues allowed to have bad days? Why the big drama? She despised the cruel words that were thrown around, "mental, "loonatic" "nut job" "nuthouse"... The list is endless.
When my mother died in March this year, she had been mentally stable for a good 8 years, in fact more stable than most sane people I know, yet certain parts of information re her illness/treatment were kept from her (as to not cause mental distress) personally I think she had a right to know about these issues, just as every "normal person" would.
My mother absolutely despised the stigma attached to mental health, and longed to be treat as a normal person, which she WAS!
I'm raising money for mind in memory of my beautiful, strong mother as I'm aware that mind strives to end the stigma associated with mental health.
