Story

I've made it through! So help me celebrate!

I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and have recently completed treatment. Although it was initially a complete shock, I am extremely glad to have got through it and come out the other side. As you can imagine, it has not been an easy year, and some days were harder than others. The care I received throughout has been wonderful, and the support of family and friends has been amazing.

In addition, the support of the South East Cancer Help Centre (SECHC) in Purley has been invaluable. SECHC is an independent charity that supports anyone affected by cancer. I have spent many happy hours at the Centre, doing a range of activities from yoga to pottery, painting to making jewellery. All of the Centre's funding comes from donations.

So, the party is a triple celebration. As well as celebrating my birthday, I want to celebrate the end of my treatment and give something back to SECHC.

Rather than giving me a birthday present, please help me celebrate by coming to my party in September and digging deep and making a donation to SECHC. Any amount, however small, is greatly appreciated.
