Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you finish trawling through the dregs of the chocolate tin (avoiding the coffee flavoured ones), I appeal to your benevolent side to make a contribution to the charity Beating Bowel Cancer whom I am representing at the London Marathon in April. Training has been challenging over the Christmas period, however I believe that I have eaten enough mince pies to fuel me over the 26 miles and 385 yards without collapsing.
Although the thought of me trudging through the winter weather should be sufficient to earn your support, here are a few facts on the good cause I’m supporting. Bowel Cancer is the UK’s second biggest cancer killer with a person diagnosed every 15 minutes. It affects men and women equally, however sufferers are often reluctant to seek advice given the nature of the symptoms which can include persistent change in bowel habit, bleeding from the bottom for no apparent reason, abdominal pain and / or unexplained weight loss. Beating Bowel Cancer does a great deal of work particularly in providing support to patients and family members through the stressful screening and treatment process.
