Story

Hello again. My name is Amber and I'm an American student studying in Lampeter, Wales. For the past year I've had the opportunity to stay in Skanda Vale many times and it's been an amazing experience. The monks and nuns of this multi-faith community are truly some of the nicest, most selfless people I have ever met. They believe everything they do, they do for god. They never ask for money or food. It is simply donated out of the kindness of people's hearts. In fact, they get so much food, they have to give it away to other charities around the world because they only use 10% of their stock.

Skanda Vale is also running a hospice for the terminally ill and elderly. At the moment, it is just a day centre. They are hoping to expand so that people may actually live there and be looked after day and night. The great thing about it is that it's absolutely free of charge.

I respect their efforts so much that I will be joining their sponsored walk once more to try and raise money for the hospice. Last year I did the 11km hike around the Pembrokeshire Coast from Dinas Island to Newport Sands. This year I shall do the 17km hike up
Mynydd Carningli.

Every little bit of your contribution helps. Even if you donate a single pound, it all goes towards a good cause and will be much appreciated.

Thank you and God Bless!
