3,000 burpees, 3,000 squats - lockdown loons!

Thank you for visiting our page. It’s been a tough time for everyone and charities have experienced really challenging times due to their organised fundraising events being cancelled.
We have decided to do a challenge for national lockdown #2. Over the 4 weeks starting Thursday 5th November and ending Wednesday 2nd December, we are challenging ourselves to do 3,000 burpees and 3,000 squats ..... each! The challenge has a special meaning as it would be Steph’s 30th birthday in December, not long after this lockdown is planned to end. 30 burpees and squats wouldn’t be a challenge so we decided to up that to not only 300 but 3,000 of each, adding all the zeros!
As many of you will know, my close friend Steph sadly passed away in March last year after her battle with Mesenchyma Chondrosarcoma cancer. She was the strongest, most inspirational and positive person and she fought her battle with incredible bravery. We are so excited to fundraise for Sarcoma UK in her memory.
A few words from Katy:
Sadly, cancer touches everyone’s lives in many different forms. I never met Steph, but I felt like I got to know her through Amber and I’m so glad to be supporting Amber with this challenge in Steph’s memory. I know many wonderful, strong and inspirational women like Steph who’s lives have been torn apart by this terrible disease. But thanks to the amazing work that Sarcoma UK and other cancer charities do, we can help to save lives. My mum was one of the lucky ones who, thanks to this critical cancer research, received treatment and has enjoyed many happy years in remission. This challenge is just our small way of contributing to one of the many charities who have struggled through these difficult times and hopefully making a small difference to someone’s future.
We are supporting Sarcoma UK, the only cancer charity in the UK focused on all types of sarcoma. Sarcoma is a cancer of the bone and soft tissue. It is one of the hardest to diagnose, and difficult to treat. We can help change this. By donating to our page, you will fund vital research projects looking for better treatments. Your donation will also raise awareness of the symptoms of sarcoma to help patients get an early diagnosis, and ensure everyone has access to specialist advice.
It means so much to us and I’d like to say a special thank you to Katy who offered to take on this challenge with me. The support means the world.
Please help us fundraise as much as possible for this amazing charity!
