Story
My beautiful niece sadly passed away on the 2nd of January after contracting GBS (group b strep) which is a horrific infection that is not tested for on the NHS. She was only 5 days old. My family are determined to stop this happening to other families, so we are hoping to raise as much as we can for the GBS charity to help them raise awareness and hopefully make it a mandatory test on the NHS (it would cost them £11).
Please help support this campaign and any fundraising events that are organised to raise as much money as possible for this wonderful charity so no other family has to go through the devastation that we are feeling at the moment, especially my sister Gabby and her partner Richard
Let’s make it Ambers legacy
Here’s some additional information about GBS
Group B Streptococcus is the UK's most common cause of life-threatening infection in newborn babies and of meningitis in babies under age 3 months. On average in the UK, at least-two babies a day develop a group B Strep infection -one baby a week dies from their GBS infection, and-one baby a week survives with long-term disabilities – physical, mental or both.Yet most group B Strep infections are preventable. Group B Strep Support informs families & health professionals about group B Strep to save tiny lives.
