Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In January this year our little Boy Harry (4) was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. 3 months down the line we are settling nicely into a new routine although Harry copes with his condition better than we do. He can check his own BG level and with supervision can inject his insulin hinself. We still have days where he cries and wishes he didnt have diabetes, he hates the bruises and the restrictions on his treats. He has good days and bad days but is coming to realise that he can be smart about what and when he eats. I would love to think that in his lifetime a cure could be found not just for Harry but for the thousands of other children and Adults that live with Type 1 Diabetes. We are very lucky to have a fantastic support network through Bishop Auckland Hospital and someone is always available at the end of a phone/text to answer a question or a worry. Our main priority is to make sure Harry has a very happy healthy childhood and whilst his diabetes will always be prominent he wont be ruled by it.
