Admiral and Welsh Refugee Council are partnering for Project Give Back, which aims to raise £50,000 to support 150 asylum seekers and refugees in Wales. Imagine you only had £6.43 a day to spend on everything you need before you had the right to work. This is the reality many newly granted refugees face. What would you do? How much do you spend on food daily? What about your phone bill? What about your Netflix account? Football training? When you see it from this angle, you realise how truly insufficient £6.43 a day is to prepare yourself for finding work. When an asylum seeker receives a positive decision on their refugee application, they only have 28 days to open a bank account, secure alternative accommodation before they are evicted and find a job. For many this process makes them feel scared, alone, and anxious. You can help change this, supporting refugees across Wales to gain independence, confidence, and employment.
