Ames and Soph take on 10k

Great Manchester Run 10k 2019 · 19 May 2019 ·
Hi, for those of you that
know us, you will usually find us downing ten gin and tonics rather than
running 10k so this year we thought we would mix it up a little. We often joke
about what it would be like to run a marathon or even up the stairs without collapsing,
so one hungover morning we decided we needed to take action, (mainly because we
need to be in a bikini by June) but also because no one in the office thinks we
can do this and for anyone that knows us, we love a challenge!
With this in mind, having seen
the amazing work that our colleagues have done for Maggie’s over the years, we
wanted to get involved and help raise as much money as possible. Maggie’s offers
free support to anyone affected by cancer, as well as being a place to meet
others, sit with a brew and help people get through this difficult journey. Maggie’s
Manchester has received over 23,000 visits since opening, from people facing
cancer and their loved ones, which is why we wanted to help support this
charity, as this is a disease that’s affected so many people around us.
Having said this, we are
here for your money and not just to be in a bikini by June. We’ve helped you
out by setting up a joint fundraising page (this also means you can donate
double for the millionaires reading this). For those of you that want to get
involved, we would appreciate a large donation and a gin at the finish line.
Thanks
Ames and Soph.
