Story

Thank you for visiting our Just Giving page.

This ride is in memory of Jodh’s friend Jake who sadly passed away in 2017 at the age of 16.

Jake was a really good friend and above all, a really good person who was always there for us and was the soul of the group of our groups of friends, and his cheeky and witty humour made everyone laugh, especially the roasts.

In June of  2016 Jake collapsed at school and soon we found out that he was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Despite this he was still his usual self, cracking jokes and being cheeky. He underwent a series of treatments and was back at school, but on the 19th April 2017 he passed away.

CLIC Sargent provided Jake and his family with amazing support - including a dedicated Social Worker, advice and grants. His family were also able to stay close to Jake in London at Paul’s House, a dedicated home from home run by CLIC. This enable them to spend time as a family unit away from the hospital ward.

This ride is in memory of Jake and a huge thank you to the charity who gave their support at the time of need when time was the most valuable asset than anything in the world.

In raising as much money for CLIC on this cycle ride will help the charity provide support to others at their desperate time of need.

Our cycle ride of 350 miles from London to Paris is nothing compared to what Jake and his parents went through, so please dig deep so CLICK Sargent can continue their good work.

Better get the stabilisers off the bike..!!
