ICS is an international Volunteering Scheme that gives 18-25 year olds from the UK, the chance to go overseas on 10-12 week work placements to work alongside volunteers on development projects in some of the poorest communities in the world.
I’m travelling with VSO and their vision is "a world without poverty in which people work together to fulfill their potential." However as part of my commitment to VSO and my placement. I was asked to fundraise £800 as a contribution to support VSO's ongoing work to support future volunteers like me. VSO is a charity which relies on fundraising as well as the financial support of the government (DFID).
