Going to Ngora, Uganda to help with the work of Edith's home · 15 August 2014

We provide a place of belonging and growth in order that we might be equipped to support our communities and initiate projects. We are actively involved in the local community, the city and internationally, working in partnership for the benefit of all, especially the vulnerable and disadvantaged.

Story

Recently I discovered Edith's home through a family friend and was automatically convinced that their valuable work was something I wanted to be a part of. The Edith's Home Project works with HIV/AIDS orphans in the community of Ngora, a small town in the Teso region of Uganda. The charity runs three main projects; Child Sponsorship, Vocational Training, and supporting Child headed families. In addition to this, each year the project takes a team out to Ngora where they help to run a summer camp for the children who the charity sponsors. This, as well as experiencing the other projects which the charity undergoes and learning about the local cultures, faiths and beliefs is what I am going to be doing in August alongside a group of people.
