Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We are having a summer of sports challenges, hoping to raise £1500 for Four Paws.

The amazing pupils of Hillyfield Primary School are competing in a fun-filled quadrathlon to help their teachers raise money for this fantastic cause. They will be running, throwing, kicking and skipping their way around an hour long cause - what an achievement! 

To help with our fundraising on May 21st, Amy, Ruth and George will be running the Hackney Half Marathon.

Following this, Amy will be participating in the Wimbledon Common Half Marathon event on the 23rd July.

And finally, Ruth will be running the Ealing half marathon on September 24th. 3 colleagues, 3 half marathons all for animals in need. 

We are taking part in these events because we want to raise money for Four Paws charity. This is the global animal welfare organisation for animals under direct human influence, which reveals suffering, rescues animals in need and protects them. Their vision is a world where humans treat animals with respect, empathy and understanding. 

Four Paws are currently campaigning to stop factory farming worldwide; to ban trophy hunting imports and to expose fur within the fashion industry. They are active in 30 countries and have 13 animal sanctuaries. In 2021, they rescued 80,800 cats and dogs, 14 bears and 12 big cats: altogether, 350 animals came under their protection.

In 2022, they focussed a lot of effort on the Ukraine crisis and worked to help rescue innocent animals from the devastation and they provided much needed supplies to zoos across Ukraine. They rescued 9 bile bears from captivity in Thailand; 2 tigers in Argentina, which had been kept in a cargo train for 15 years; 5 lions from cages in Romania and 2 Karachi elephants from chains in Pakistan, both of which needed life saving surgery.

Everyone we know loves animals and would never want to see an animal come to harm at the hands of humans. However, all over the world animals are harmed everyday by the actions of people. We want to raise money for Four Paws to help them in their amazing efforts to save animals all over the globe.
