The Motor Neurone Disease (MND) association is a charity ran over England, Wales and Northern Ireland that is dedicated to improve the care and support for people affected by MND. I am fundraising for this charity because I want to see us beat and find a cure for this disease, which at present does not have any treatments or cures!

This charity is very close to my heart since I lost one of the most important people in my life to the dreadful disease in June 2016. My grandma was only 70 years of age when she was taken away from us too early. Many people will agree she was one of the most kind hearted and caring people you would have ever met. She was the heart of our family, always putting others before herself and bringing a smile to everyone’s face. With her only having two grandchildren, we had a special bond that will stay with me forever, I miss her everyday and now I want to make a difference, something I know she would want to happen.

It was so hard to see her deteriorating over the 5 years she battled the disease, but she did so with so much courage and strength. This makes me want to raise as much money as I can in her honour! In May 2018 I have decided to do a skydive, something that terrifies me but also gives me so much motivation to raise as much money as I can to combat this disease and make a breakthrough in a treatment! I will be jumping at Hinton airfield - this airfield is close to my grandparents house so I have fond memories growing up of watching the parachutes fall from the sky with my grandma. We never would have thought it’d be me jumping from that plane!!
