In Uganda I will be painting textbooks onto newly built schools... On our arrival a brand new building would have been built. This building will become one of many learning resources for hundreds of Ugandian Boys AND Girls.
Myself, as part a group of Middlessex University students will be painting these buildings into schools. Each school has only enough resources to provide one classrroom with one textbook, so our job is to design and paint these textbooks onto the walls so each child has access to the learning material. Each classroom, a different subject...
For example: In the curriculum for Art, they learn about Malaria, the dangers and how to protect themselfs and their family. In the subject of Drama they learn about Family Planning and the importance of controception and AIDS etc. There IT lessons bring teachings on Dental Hygene while the library walls have a broader perspecive of general knowledge & nutrition.
In order to do this I need to raise £650 to go towards the charity fees which will cover the materials and the necessaities i will need to complete this project. From the 7th June - 10th July, myself and the rest of the mdx uni team wish to have painted a whole school. This is of course only possible through your help... So with warm heatrs and heads in education, please dig deep... Xx
