I have always wanted to run a marathon. It has been on my bucket list for many, many years. It was something I dreamed about but never believed I would do due to being grossly overweight and unable to even run a mile without stopping. Then I made the decision to completely change my lifestyle and reclaim my health. I started slowly and over the course of many years, I did exactly that. I started training regularly, running occasionally and doing bootcamps and obstacle races. I lost 100 pounds, gained strength and the belief that anything is possible, if you put your heart into it. I have gone from someone who never thought she could to someone who knows she absolutely can. I am constantly surprising myself and know that this experience, though challenging, will be no different. I am going on this journey with two women that I respect and admire and that makes it all the more exciting!
I have chosen to support Autism Research Trust because of the important work they do around understanding Autism. Our daughter was diagnosed with Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder nearly 3 years ago and so this is a charity very close to my heart. As the parent, I want the best for my children, and the ARC do so much to make sure I have the best resources possible to meet the needs of my daughter. There is still much work to be done to gain insight and understanding and any support you can give is greatly appreciated by my family and all the other families affected by Autism.
I am happy to be raising awareness and money for such a worthwhile charity. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for your support.
