The Color Run London 2017 · 11 June 2017 ·

A community based charity led by Black men, delivering programmes focused on Mentoring, Education, Economic Empowerment, Health & Wellness and Leadership.

Story

I have been inspired to run (and walk) this 5k Color Run for the 100 Black Men of London after taking part in their Mentoring/PIP programmes with my sons. I am so happy to have this opportunity to  support this amazing group of black men who take the time out of their busy family and work schedules to be pro active and contribute so much to the young people and their families, within their communities. They are all about it "takes a village to raise a child" and their caring and sharing approach has worked so well with my sons.

My eldest son was blessed with been an Ambassador for the 100 Black Men of London, several years ago and represented them at their Annual conference in America.  He is now completing his second year at University. It has  been a privilege being involved with this wonderful group of dedicated men who have taken the time to inspire, educate, motivate and take a leadership role in the black community. They are a small charity but It has been a real pleasure to see them grow from strength to strength as they help to transform the lives of their mentees and their parents. They approach their programmes from a positive mind set in that they are looking at the potential in each of the children entering their programmes and engaging/nurturing this so each child can grow and flourish to achieve "their full potential" in the wider community. They have an if "you can conceive it, you can achieve it approach", which is refreshing as they do not wait for problems to occur with our children and then "try to fix it". They are helping our children to live outside of the stereotypes that society has placed on them by allowing them to see their future as that of Leaders and go getters in the development and growth  of their communities..

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and please donate to the 100 Black Men of London so they can continue to Lead, inspire, educate and motivate our black youth to become dynamic, educated and responsible young adults of the future.

Also do come and support us on the 11th June, 2017. It will be much appreciated  and you will have lots of fun, whilst been  entertained. Or you could run with me .....let me know.
