I am hoping to raise money for my second trip to Tanzania with Bridge2Aid. It is a well organised charity which enables teams of UK dentists and nurses to train rural clinical officers in providing emergency treatment for dental pain in rural communities. We teach them extraction techniques, sterilisation and oral health education.

This charity is not just for handouts, or for a temporary help, but is an ongoing, sustainable programme whereby passing on our skills and knowledge empowers people to help themselves and their communities for the future.

I know first hand what the charity does and the difference it makes. Dental decay is rife and with the agony of toothache, the nearest dentist may be 40 miles away and getting there will cost 10 days wages. Most will simply suffer for years.

To raise money this year I am holding a Charity Disco, tea parties for friends and family and in the summer I will aim to cycle from London to Brighton!! Best get on my bike!!!
