This page is in memory of my Father Tony Holbrook , who died in January , in the week of his 74th birthday from complications associated with his diabetes.

I don't want it to be a sad page because my Dad would not have wanted that. He was always smiling and laughing and had something to say about everything. He spent his life helping people as a doctor, first in the RAF then as a GP and hospital doctor, and finally specialising in Aviation Medicine and setting up medical facilites all over the world as CMO of BAE Systems. During this time he also spent many years running a Diabetic Clinic at Blackpool Victoria Hospital and continued to support diabetes sufferers and charities after being diagnosed with the disease himself.

Myself,my partner Mick and one of Tony's grandchildren Rebecca would like to celebrate his life and help to support a charity that was close to his heart by taking part in the Diabetes UK 'Walk the Extra Mile' event on Saturday 23rd July 2011. This is a 9 mile walk from Hest Bank to Flookburgh across Morecambe Bay.

Diabetes UK is the leading charity working for people with diabetes, funding research and helping people live with the condition. It's mission is to improve the lives of people with diabetes and to work towards a future without diabetes. Any donation you are able to make will help them make a huge difference.
