We exist to defend the right to a safe home and fight the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and society. We believe that home is everything.

Story

Since 2010 the number of people in the UK forced to sleep rough has increased by 34%. Living on the streets vastly increases the risk of suffering violence, sexual assault and mental illness-problems the current government are failing to address. Austerity measures such as slashing benefits and imposing Bedroom Tax have been accompanied by spiraling numbers of families forced into homelessness.

I have decided to raise money for Shelter. This charity directly helps homeless people and families whilst pressurising the government on issues such as rent prices. Therefore I am giving up my bed to sleep on floors for Lent. I am not claiming to give up all comfort in life, just hoping to raise money for an important cause. It would be beautiful if you could donate even a little.
