Take a kicking! · 11 December 2019

Wood Street Mission is a Manchester children's charity which helps children and families living in poverty in Manchester & Salford. We provide practical help to help meet children’s day-to-day needs and improve their life chances. More than 1 in 3 children in Manchester is living in poverty.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We've all taken a kicking from our boss, whether its for a late report, a dodgy spreadsheet or a timesheet that went awry!

This time my boss, Coalfire's CEO Tom McAndrew decided to make the trip over from our North West US HQ to our North West UK HQ to see the team before the Christmas break and to see our new offices.

With all this going on we wanted to take some time to pay it forward.  As we're both ageing Taekwondo fighters - Tom said 'why don't we have a charity fight'... And, well it kind of escalated.

So yes,  last night (11 Dec) I voluntarily got a kicking from my boss.  All in aid of the Wood Street Mission a charity operating since the late 1800s that supports families that are really struggling to survive.  The work they do is amazing and over the Christmas period they try to make sure that children from families that have a real fight on their hands - have a gift, and a chance of taking off some of the stress and worry.

If I can reach my fundraising goal - I'll release the video of me getting bounced around the ring for your enjoyment!!

Thanks for reading, - many thanks, a bruised and battered

Andy
