Snowdonia Marathon · 10 October 2012

We help Sheffield’s hospitals, community teams and health and social care services to cover costs their NHS budgets can’t. We fund support for patients and staff, life-changing research and more, so that we can enhance care from birth to the end of life and everything in between.

Story

Richard and I ran the Snowdonia Marathon on 27th October so many thanks to all who have suppported and donated; without you I may well have given up before reaching the start. Richard and I both work in mental health services in Sheffield and are raising some additional money to make small improvements to the service that the NHS in Sheffield can offer. Any money we raise here will be spent on the gardens of our mental health wards. This money will not be substituting mainstream funding but will be used to improve the outdoor environment for people in hospital and make the gardens healing and inspiring places. We are also keen to use events like this to play our small part in raising the profile of mental health issues and hopefully challenge some of the stigma that sadly still exists. Thanks for taking your time to have a look at our justgiving pages and thanks again for your support.
