Story

Hello,

I missed the registration date for Movember and originally planned to use it as an excuse to not shave for a month. As time elapsed, the amount of taunting and questions on sponsorship increased, so I decided that I needed a cunning plan to justify my facial furniture and extort charitable donations from those responsible for the mocking.

So, in the spirit of Movember, I have created this page.

I attach evidence of the frankly ridiculous moustache that inhabited the lower part of my face for 30 days. Note the clear increase in sophistication observed in the before and after photos.

Movember aims to raise funds and awareness for Men's health (specifically Prostate and other cancers).

I have witnessed the devastating effects of cancer first hand and will be eternally grateful for the care the Macmillan healthcare professionals gave my father in his last days, as well as the support Macmillan provided my family at that time. For that reason, and because 1 in 3 of us are likely to get cancer in our lifetime, I would like to raise some funds for Macmillan Cancer Relief who aim to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

More information can be found on their wesbite: http://www.macmillan.org.uk

To absolve my Movember guilt, I will commit to matching the final value of all donations received between now and Christmas day 2011.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
