Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page where I'm hoping to raise £1,500 for Prostate Cancer UK by completing the Drover Cycles Gospel Pass Everesting Challenge.

Having been diagnosed with prostate cancer a number of years ago my dad spent a significant part of last year undergoing various forms of treatment for the disease. Thankfully this treatment has been successful and so he lives on to see me doing more foolish things on a bike.

The Everesting Challenge will see me (and a few others) riding up and down the Gospel Pass (highest pass in Wales) 16 times until I have ridden the height of Mt Everest, a total of 8848m and 250km. This must be done as a single ride (no sleeping) and will take around 20 hours.

I have attempted this twice before and succeeded once, so success is not guaranteed but maximum effort is!

This year I will be riding my self built wooden bike and I believe that I will be the first person to complete an Everesting on a wooden bike.

So dig deep and put some pressure on me to keep going when the going starts to get tough.

Thanks a lot,

Andy
