Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Beth, my daughter wanted to help her Grandad collect stamps for Hearing Dogs, to give him a purpose in life when he started getting dementia. Her Nana had started collecting 12 years ago, but sadly passed away in 2006.
Beth encouraged her school to help but organising a stamp collecting competition between classes, with the winning class being awarded a big box of chocolates.
Through the support of the local paper, who ran the story, organisations and people across Watford have been sending and delivering stamps, other schools have started to collect and so have Brownie packs, Bowling clubs. Its generated a massive community spirit as well as collect over 35,000 stamps so far.
Beth really would like a dog of her own, but she's helping Hearing Dogs as a way of getting closer to this goal, but wants to make a difference to someones life.
As a Governor at the school, I agreed to put on a shirt, ears and doggy tail and run the BUPA 10k to raise funds to help buy and train a dog. All helping Beth acheive her target, and maybe, just maybe Beth might get her own wish in the coming months.
Please help by supporting me on this run, or if you would like to save your stamps as well, send them to Beth 11 Wilcot Ave, Watford, Herts, WD194AT
