Brighton Marathon 2014 · 6 April 2014 ·

Whoopsadaisy helps children with physical disabilities live life as independently as possible. Using the Hungarian method of Conductive Education we focus on what the children can do in group sessions which the children's parents and carers also attend. .At Whoopsadaisy every step counts.

Story

So - this year's challenge has been to do two marathons in a week. First Brighton (6 April) and then London (13 April).

First Brighton. I ran it in 2 hours 57 minutes (51 seconds, if you're REALLY) interested - a personal best by more than 5 minutes, the first time I've broken three hours obviously (and the last) and meant I finished 38th overall, incredibly. A mere 49 minutes behind the winner too, but let's not look at it like that hey.

Today was London. As expected, considerably harder (for some reason) - not least because it was a lot hotter. I still did really well though - got round in 3 hours 5 minutes (again, 51 seconds if you like to keep track of these things). Literally couldn't have run it a second faster - absolutely spent. But really, really chuffed again.

Here comes the money bit…. Again, I've been running for Whoopsadaisy. To those of you who've not seen it before, they're a Brighton-based charity who work with children who have cerebral palsy and other motor disorders. They work with children to help them develop more independence and build their abilities and skills to help them tackle everyday life – you can find out more here: http://www.whoopsadaisy.org/

It goes without saying that anything you can or want to give me is hugely appreciated by both me and Whoopsadaisy, and makes a big difference. Thanks as ever for your support – it means a lot.
