Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Three of us crazy enough to volunteer for this adventure from
Profile Security, are attempting to kayak the Great Glen Canoe Trail to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
This epic paddle will take place between 8th -12th August. The two paddlers, Chris McKay and Andy Hill, ably supported by Paul Sopp; will paddle this epic 60 mile (95km) journey crossing Scotland from West at Fort William and traverse North East finishing in Inverness. The route will take us from the Atlantic to the North Sea.
This 4 day adventure will follow the Caledonian canal and
conquer the formidable open waters of Loch Lochy, Loch Oich and the mighty Loch Ness, which... being effectively an inland sea, is a real challenge in itself. We will average over 23km of paddling each day and camp on the Loch shores each night.
There are 22 lock gates to portage (carry the kayak) around at a
cumulative distance over the trail of 3.2km.
We hope to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK and we
would love to hit or if possible exceed our target of set of £2.5k.
Please give generously and we will ensure that our progress can be followed along the way during the challenge via company and personal social media.
