The National Three Peaks Challenge and Place2Be...a fantastic challenge in support of a genuinely great cause. How could I refuse?

At the end of July, I'll be part of a White & Case team attempting to climb the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales in just 24 hours to raise money for Place2Be, a children's mental health charity providing school-based support and training programmes to improve the emotional wellbeing of pupils, families, teachers and school staff.

The three great mountains which make up the National Three Peaks Challenge are, of course, Ben Nevis in Scotland (1,345m), Scafell Pike in England (978m) and Snowdon in Wales (1,085m).

And is it a challenge? Well, only if 26 miles of horizontal distance and 3,000m of vertical ascent across three summits in 24 hours strikes you as a hiking gauntlet thrown down! What I do know is that your donations will be very gratefully received and a source of considerable motivation.
