You may not have heard of it but ARPKD - AUTOSOMAL RECESSIVE POLYCYSTIC KIDNEY DISEASE - is a rare disease that affects the kidneys and liver. It occurs in about one in every 20,000 live births in the UK including our colleague Sam's two young children. 

Sam has never sailed before and she's not particularly keen on the idea of joining other first time sailors right out into the English Channel but she's willing to give it a go. All of us here at QuickStore are right behind her and some of us are even going with her because we all want to help as much as we can.

You may have heard of the Eddystone Lighthouse, it sits on some dangerous rocks, it's a navigational hazard and has been washed away in the past....such is the force of the sea. The round trip is 26 miles, lifejackets will be issued on the day along with seasickness tablets and a compass.
