Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Those of you that know me well will know that this is a radical step for me.
I turned 55 in September and in October - for reasons too complex to go into here - went to see a group of nutters participating in an Ironman Triathlon in Callela in Spain.
I was, in 2012 asked if I'd like to take part in this triathlon and gave a monosyllabic, spherical, and predictable answer.
However seeing the aforementioned nutters do their stuff had a profound effect on me.
"Inspirational" probably isn't right word but it's close.
I got on the scales for the first time for years (Nasty shock, apparently Alison had not been shrinking my trousers in the wash as I had believed)
So I went back to the gym.
Junior daughter (as mad as the Iron people but in a different way) is doing 25 challenges in her 25th year and I challenged her to swim half a mile in 10 of London's outdoor pools through the year.
You'll find her story here
http://alicemaypurkiss.co.uk/
She had also decided to do the Great London Swim.
You can now see how this came about can't you!!
I got my entry to the Great London Swim yesterday.
Why Harrison's Fund??
I met Alex through the Iron Nutters and was impressed with the cause I'm blessed with 2 healthy daughters and a healthy grandson so it seemed appropriate.
Your support will be much appreciated and any money I raise will go to an excellent cause.
I'll try to update this page regularly and I'll do my best to entertain.
