Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Some years ago I had and still have the dream to cycle from John o Groats to Land's End. A few years ago my old Professor, Dr Waite asked me if I had done it yet. I hadn't. So in taking a step towards my dream, I am doing this coast to coast ride, west to east, for ADRA UK. Riding from Southport to Skegness ( approx 260 miles) and encouraging others to join my on this cycling adventure to raise money to help save lives and build communities.
Life is about challenges. Without which the human spirit seldom grows. Thus with this challenge, I aim to grow personally and to encourage others to grow also and have fun and enjoyment in the process. Just as my sister Joy would do.
Recently, one of my sister's Joy, passed away quite suddenly from a severe stroke. She was only 54 years old. It came as a massive shock to us all. I was planning to tell her about this ride and ask her to make some of her distinct, tasty and delicious festival dumplings for the ride. However, I never got the chance to tell her about the ride or to ask her to help by using her culinary skills. As my sister Joy was a living live wire of Joy and enthusiasm, faith and positive outlook, it is my hope by doing this ride, to share hope and positivity with other who choose to join me on the ride and to share hope with those that ADRA UK will be able to help as result of the funds that we will raise.
Then, following the Nepal earthquake, I feel that this ride has come at the right time as funds that are raised, will be used to help those who are now homeless and desperately in need as a result of the devastation and high death toll. Your giving really will help change lives.
So, thanks for taking the time to read these few words.
Kind regards
Andrew.
